A neat experiment almost anyone can do is take 3" of thread buy a package (2 per package) of
Radio Shack rare earth 10,000 gauss magnets. Place the thread between
the magnets at the bottom of the thread. Lower them slowly above a clock transformer. I use the
Honeywell CHRONOTHERM's clock. If it is done correctly
it will spin and bob Up and Down in a yo - yo fashion. Perhaps even float for a brief moment.
